Agency of Corruption

On November 13, 2017 an open letter to the board members of the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority (NPCA) offering to get the Board’s side of the ‘Study in Corruption’.

The offer was made because the NPCA charged that the ‘Study in corruption’ failed to get the NPCA’s side of the story.

The offer was only read by three board members.

CAO Mark Brickell denied the delegate presentation offer citing that Board members giving their side and expressing their opinions would be “slanderous”

Secrecy is Killing Society

During the Niagara Region Audit Committee Meeting 11-14-2017 Chair Caslin asked that his name be removed from the loan granted to the Town of Pelham predicated on the fact that the Town of Pelham failed to produce vital financial information in requesting the loan through the Region.

With the exception of Pelham Mayor Augustine, the Audit Committee Members reacted negatively to the discovery of alleged debt disclosures  coming to light with the financial arrangements as officially reported by the town of Pelham.

The debt disclosers only cane to light with the resignation of Pelham Council Member Marvin Junkin over undue secrecy and what he consider unethical conduct hidden behind the closed doors of in camera meetings.

At the 1:25:22 Minute Mark of the video Councillor Bob Gale raised the alarm that Pelham’s Mayor August would try to attack whistle blower Junkin for exposing alleged financial corruption.

Sure enough the following evening the mayor of Pelham called a Special Meeting of Council_Nov15_2017 to produce the Town’s lawyer to give chapter and verse as to the consequences of leaking information from an ‘in-camera session’. Video of Pelham Meeting

The Town’s Lawyer failed the address the character of councilors or board members that refuse to disclose corrupt of criminal activity.

It goes without saying the overcrowded gallery of concerned Citizens let the Mayor know that his conduct made him appear about as popular as a skunk at a picnic.

Spectators vociferously demanded to know which of the two secret summer audits would be reported on November 29, 2017audits.

The Mayor refused to answer.

Open Letter to the NPCA Board of Directors

Dear Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority Board Members,

This is to inform you that you have been denied your right to counter any and all of the charges made against the NPCA Board in the article ‘A Study in Corruption’.

The CAO tried desperately to defend the NPCA as can be viewed by Clicking HERE.

Notwithstanding the CAO’s autocratic diatribe, your continued silence can only be interpreted as validation of the article titled ‘A Study in Corruption’.

Since we have been accused of NOT getting your side of the story, I will be in attendance at the November 15, 2017 NPCA Board Meeting and I will be ready and willing to hear your side of the story ‘A Study in Corruption’.

We have been asking for your side of our 'Study in Corruption' and have been met with Silence. In fact we offer a comment area at the bottom of each and every article.

Please understand that this study is the culmination of years of observation and through the effort of several organizations and a small army of dedicated Citizens in the face of absolute secrecy.

Poor Excuse for Money Bags Morneau

Just what is the renowned writer Andrew Coyne suggesting in his poor excuse for Money Bags Finance Minister Bill Morneau in his National Post Story.

Well isn't that nice!

Proves the point that if Mary Dawson, the Ethics Commissioner fails the ultra rich Finance Minister is absolved because he is apparently too ignorant or too arrogant to realize that it is not proper to use his position to steer financial advantage to the very entity to which he owns stock.

It would be bad enough if this bovine waste where an isolated incident but it's not. Political and bureaucratic corruption is prevalent across the board and across all political lines.

Worse is the sound of silence emanating from our political leaders!

Not one of our disgusting political parties is even mentioning recall legislation or term limits!!!

The Corruption Grows!

Stand up for Canadian First Nations

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau abandons Canadian First Nations to Liberal Style of Government

When Charmaine Stick started her courageous struggle for First Nations accountability and transparency, she knew it would be a long, hard journey and it isn’t over yet.
Her own band’s leaders have launched an appeal to overturn Charmaine’s hard-won legal victory requiring them to publish their salaries and expenses as well as band’s audited financial statements. We’ve just found out that the Saskatchewan Court of Appeal will hear the arguments in December.

We have to stand with Charmaine to win this appeal.

Here’s the background. A few years ago, Charmaine asked leaders at Onion Lake Cree Nation why so many band members live in poverty even though the community on the Saskatchewan-Alberta border has significant oil resources. When they refused to provide answers, Charmaine went on a 14-day hunger strike.

Then, a little more than a year ago, the federal government stopped enforcing The First Nations Financial Transparency Act. That law gives grassroots First Nations people the right to see their band’s basic financial information on a public website. More than 90 per cent of First Nations have complied with the law. Onion Lake Cree Nation’s leaders have always refused to follow the law and the government stopped enforcing the law.

That’s when Charmaine partnered with the Canadian Taxpayers Federation. Together, we launched a court application to enforce the First Nations Financial Transparency Act. Hundreds of CTF supporters made donations to cover the legal costs. The Court of Queen’s Bench for Saskatchewan ruled in Charmaine’s favour – WE WON.

But Onion Lake Cree Nation’s leaders are appealing that victory.

We’ve got an excellent lawyer and we think we have a good chance of beating this appeal. But appeals cost money. Charmaine’s leaders are more than willing to burn the band’s cash on legal costs and they’re obviously hoping we’ll run out of money. We can’t let Charmaine down as she continues to take this courageous stand.

Will you step up with $100 to defend Charmaine’s victory by making sure we win this appeal? To donate, just click this LINK
