No one should hold public office who wilfully and deliberately prevents the public from expressing themselves before the elected authorities.

Evidence shows that the Niagara Regional Government has been denying Citizens their right to present to Regional Council for years. It starts with the convoluted rules. First, If you wish to speak at a Regional Council meeting to a matter already on the agenda, you must submit your written delegation request to the Regional Clerk by 9 a.m. on the Friday prior to the meeting.  

The problem arises when the agenda is not reported until the following Monday!

This long time scam of the Niagara Regional Government allows for the ability to pick and choose who the regime can allow and who can deny to speak! 

In the situation of Sabrina Hill, not one person in the Niagara Region Chamber bothered to ask why she had to resort to hand- written-white-board signs to alert that she was continually barred from presenting to council or who was preventing her from presenting! Not one person bothered to ask why Sabrin Hill was continually denied her right to present to council! Only one Councillor voted "NO" to silence her again! 

I believe it goes against our charter rights to deny a Citizen the right to present to council.

Perhaps 'unelected chair' Bradley should have his litigious legal beagles check to see if signs or placards can be displayed in council. I believe the precedent has already been set into law.

Canadian elected authorities would do better if they conducted their duty more in favour of their electorate as they do manipulating their own self-interest!   

But then what can you expect from an 'unelected Regional Chair' that has to be sued to return stolen property!

What do the Words "CITIZENS FIRST" really mean?

The City of St. Catharines uses the Words "Citizens
First" to give the impression that the City puts the Citizens before the wants and needs of the City's bureaucracy! 

The latest reason to doubt the veracity of the City's claim is the City's financial rape of a St. Catharines Widow!

The reason we feel confident in saying so can be found in our June 24, 2024 article titled 'REPETITION'. We titled our article 'repetition' because we believed that following the extraordinary triple digit tax increases and the outrageous 4 dozen sudden increase in bureaucrats that they would 'Do it Again'. And they did! 

We asked the "CITIZENS FIRST" hotline for the laws covering the new Airbnb rules and regulations - NO response.

We also asked for the date the Council passed the new law - Refused.

If any of the 'Dirty Dozen' has an objection to our assessment of their conduct; they had plenty of time and opportunity to say so! They could have responded to their victims. They could have responded to the media. The could have responded to News Alert Niagara. Instead the stayed silent! Some even blocked our input!
But fear not! With a little help from our friends we 

have found the information for you. You can CLICK HERE to watch the April 17, 2023 where you will witness council worrying about what amount of $money the municipality will garner. (1:1 Mim. Mark) What you will not hear is a single word of concern for "CITIZENS FIRST"!

It is becoming quite apparent that 'Citizens First' must keep a closer eye on the machinations of those we have hired and elected.

Are we accusing our City Officials of operating a protection racket?

Yes we are and we have the evidence!

Starting from their stated position of protecting the Hotel/Motel industry to their stated crises of AIRBnB terrorists we were shocked by their technique to bring dangerous Airbnb terrorists into compliance.

Surely "CITIZENS FIRST" would dictate that if there is enough manpower to investigate every aspect of the destructive nature of Airbnb, there would be the same amount of manpower to apprise their victims of the new protection racket before surprising them with $1000.00 per day fines! The fact remains that none of this protection racket would be happening without the approval of 'The dirty Dozen'!

Obviously "CITIZENS FIRST" means Citizens First after us!

Repetition

Some say that owning a property in Niagara is like having 'sucker' tattooed on your forehead!

Others say property owners are targets for failed leadership!

To quote one unhappy property owner: "a law that was very quietly passed and enforced by our city hall without proper notification to all the B&b owners!"

To quote another citizen: "it appears like a bureaucratic conspiracy!"

Even trespass laws require warning before charges or penalty can be applied!

Perhaps we now know the reason for hiring four dozen new bureaucrats. To seek out dangerous B&B criminals yet fail to inform the criminal B&B operators of the NEW mandatory $500.00 B&B permits.  

Of course that is what a normal municipality would do; give notice before penalizing innocent unsuspecting B&B operators to the tune of $1,000.00 per day! 

$8,000.00 penalty for a widow out of the country visiting sick family and then add another $1,000.00 on this dangerous widow for not taking down her advertizing fast enough!

Due to the dearth of logical explanation or even a response from those we have elected and hired as to why the sudden desire to save humanity from dangerous B&B criminals we are left with the alternative of 'follow the money'.

It appears that out civic leaders have discovered a way to turn $tens of thousands of new permits into $hundreds of thousands of protective penalties!

If those we have hired and elected are determined to operate a protection racket the electorate must hire and elect a better class of gangster because it's not the widow operating her B&B we have to be protected from!

How can we have Law and Order when our Law is out of Order

 Wise asses and know-it-alls repeat like parrots that we are a nation of laws.

Good enough, but only if the question arising from that deceptive statement that 'we are a nation of laws' can be answered as to whose law, enforced by what honest and transparent security service and on behalf of who? 

Does the truncated words "To serve and protect" indicate who the police serve and protect OR does it indicate "to serve and protect those who write their check?"

'News Alert Niagara' has been chronicling instances of police crime, corruption and dereliction of duty since the Farka case in 2014 with no response from police or the feckless police civilian oversight board.

'News Alert Niagara'  has written 616 articles since it ended 11 years hard copy in 2012 (now with 508,693 page views) including each and every article sent to every pertinent politician! To date we have heard nothing; not even to contradict our articles! Even the police don't want to talk or challenge our articles!

Two years into the inaugural 2012 publication of 'News Alert Niagara'  the new editor, Preston Haskell was shocked by the 2014 disgusting instance of the near death of Mr. Farkas at the hands of an aggressive police bully! The famous Farkas story, a story that still appears on YOUTUBE a decade on, was possibly the event that tarnished Haskell's lifelong belief in the veracity of police! More importantly the Farkas story created a hyper-awareness to the accumulating stories of similar concern starting to proliferate social media. 

Following our failure to find accountability for police misconduct we are left with a conclusion that the only reliable entities holding police accountable are the exponentially increasing numbers of "RIGHTS Auditors" such as PC Audits; Canada Cop Watch; True North Transparency; Ontario Audit , who of course are utterly despised by police!

Perhaps it should not really come as a surprise considering the extraordinary effort the police go through to hide their scurrilous conduct from the public!

.Unnecessary lack of transparency to this degree forebodes serious problems in the future. 

In fact, the only transparency we found was the clear view of those we have elected and hired willing to destroy society's standard of living in their effort to feed their empire-building monsters!

Since 'News Alert Niagara'  has publicly raised and disseminated this issue, no-one can claim they were not informed.

Scurrilous and secretive police conduct leeds to the sad conclusion that the police have  become  just another corrupt and very expensive empire-building monster contributing to the over-burdening  of society and the exponential diminution of societal standards! Somehow our inept political leadership either has no concern for police corruption or they are feeding their multiple monsters hoping to be eaten last!
