The story of a Border town
Please let me tell you a discerning story about a border town or at least the antics of a border town. It all started with the border town’s expensive and illegal police attack on Mr. FredBracken and continued when certain people of the border town of Fort Erie, Ontario attempted to acquire access to a privately owned landlocked subdivision without paying market rate for their desired property.
The Town of Fort Erie imitating the worst reputation of a border town by costing their taxpayers for activities against the law, ignoring property rights, abusing charter rights, tyranny and their squalid use of their equally squalid NRP trespassers.

The story of a border town escalates with the town targeting the one
person who stood up for the Favero Family in the Favero Family’s valiant defense
against the city’s attack. Mr. Ray Desmarais’ successful defense of the Favero
family set up Desmarais for targeted reprisal abuse by the border town.
The city’s reprisal against Desmarais caught the attention of ‘News
Alert Niagara’ and Photojournalist Preston Haskell writing and recording the
conduct of the border city’s abuse vindictively heaped on Mr. Ray Desmarais.

When Mr. Desmarais informed me that he was suing the border city of Fort
The court date was set for Monday January 19, one of the meanest snow
days of 2026 but we made it because Ray was terrified that if he was late, they
would rule against him. Considering his treatment so far, his fear was
justified. The saddest thing was watching Ray lug 50 pounds of his prepared
documents for two hours searching for his court room; asking the information
desk, who also did not know, only to finally discover that his Monday court
date had been postponed the previous Friday, until Tuesday, without notifying Mr.
Desmarais!

The first part of the horror show was when the Fort Erie defense asked Ray if he would agree that the items removed from his acres where junk. Ray said he did not agree! The comic relief of the horror show was when bylaw officer Bridgeman answered with 'we took everything you owned because we were working with you'!
The value of Ray’s possessions is the cost of replacement not the price paid for them or even if he paid for them at all, as espoused by the city!
The vehicles that
were removed were parts vehicles used for things such as starters, generators,
engines, rear-end spider gear, transmissions, etc. etc.
Ray’s trailer was
nearly full of parts and pieces of the parts that were replaced from repairs.
Like all service
repair services, the trailer gets to the point where it goes for scrap money.
Every service
repair service has piles of what could be considered junk including the huge
pile of debris in the city of Fort Erie work yard!
They took his riding
lawnmower in the middle of winter when there were no acres of grass to cut on
their stated belief that the wheels had chunks out of solid rubber tires. The
tires were slow leaking air-filled tires! He had no need for the mower for
months until he needed the mower during the grass growing season as subsequently
shown by the city’s demand that he cut the grass after they removed his
lawnmowers and all property maintenance equipment.
According Fort
Erie bylaw officer Bridgeman, the removal of Ray’s possessions was done because
of Officer Bridgeman’s opinion! Officer Bridgeman stated that he did not know
the auto service business yet he acted as an expert!
Officer
Bridgeman’s opinion led him to take hundreds of pictures to back up his
opinion! He failed to take pictures of the hundreds and hundreds of holes in
the ground from the parts cars that he claimed were sunk in the ground!
The reason there
is no proof of a legitimate complainant is because Ray’s back yard is well
hidden behind a solid board fence while other surrounding properties are strewn
with ugly debris in plain sight.
It is not credible
that a concerned citizen would drive by tons of fully exposed junk to complain
about anything discreetly closeted out of sight. Ray accepted the response that
the name of the complainant be withheld from him but not that the complainant’s
name be withheld from the court!
Ray did not know that in the name of
protecting society the city would or could raid his property, steal his
possessions and divvy them amongst the raiders including his tools, building
materials including window on down to his lawnmowers. His inquiries as to where
his possessions were taken has received only silence. He subsequently found
some of his possessions in the possession of another business.
In the city’s
final summation, the court was treated to the truth regarding Rays lack of
evidence or receipts of purchase to prove value of his possessions. The proven
value of Ray’s possessions was in the fact that he used the items in his auto
service business.
The Town of Fort
Erie’s squalid and inhuman attack on Ray’s property did more than steal his
possessions. It stole his ability to earn a living. It left Ray without financial legal
assistance to defend himself. It negated everything he had worked his whole
life for. It destroyed his life!
The entire reprehensible
actions of the cities conduct is in stark evidence that the invasion of his
humble repair service was based on retaliation of his efforts to support a
fellow citizen.
All this to a man
that never hurt a single soul with his activities!
