In our article we made a claim that the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms are our defense precisely against government abuse and tyranny.
.
Could it be that the images of ordinary Canadian Citizens silhouetted across the bottom of the 'Charter' are there to mislead the viewer into thinking and believing that the 'charter' is meant for the Plebeian, the Serfs, the Peasants under Canada's deceitful rulers and their equally deceptive national media.
.
Imagine our surprise and abject horror and humiliation at the mere thought that there might be a clause in our Charter of Rights and Freedoms that would negate the whole concept of Rights and Freedoms.
.
Our anxiety grew out of reading the viewer recommended 'Section 32' of our protective Charter of Rights and Freedoms which reads; The purpose of section 32 is to make it clear that the Charter only applies to governments, and not to private individuals, businesses or other organizations.
. Question: Does 'Section 32' make it clear that the Charter only applies to the protection of government, and not to private individuals, businesses of other organizations OR Does 'Section 32' protect private individuals, businesses or other organizations from the abuses of government?
.
On Monday morning, May 4, 2020 we posed this question to those we have hired and elected:

We felt sure that our political leaders would be anxious to respond to our PRIVATE email to inform us whether or not our Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms was the protective 'law of the land' covering Canadian Citizens or just another false promise.
.
.
Only MPP Sam Oosterhoff responded to our private Citizen email
.
Tony Baldinelli MP & Sara Charitsis deleted our urgent Citizen email question
regarding our Charter by Deleting without even reading!
MPP Oosterhoff sent this connection which explains the purpose of 'Section 32' of the Charter.
Purpose
Section 32(1) defines the scope of the Charter’s application. The text of section 32(1) provides
“a strong message that the Charter … is essentially an instrument for checking the powers of government over the individual”: McKinney v. University of Guelph, [1990] 3 S.C.R. 229 at 261.
The Charter is not intended to govern relations between private actors.
“The exclusion of private activity from the Charter was not a result of happenstance. It was a deliberate choice that must be respected. We do not really know why this approach was taken, but several reasons suggest themselves. Historically, bills of rights, of which that of the United States is the great constitutional exemplar, have been directed at government. Government is the body that can enact and enforce rules and authoritatively impinge on individual freedom”: McKinney at 262.
Some.say that 'if you don't know your rights then you don't have any'!
Others say 'If you don't exorcise you rights you lose them'!
.
But, we are losing the rights we thought we had!
.
We are losing them in our courts and we are losing them to our government at all levels! We are even losing them to the police!
.
Worse yet we are losing our rights by acquiescing to the constant malignant excuses proffered by those who would destroy our 'Rights and Freedoms' to promote their own selfish agenda.

PS: Now that we have determined that the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms is the supreme law of the land protecting Canadian Citizens surely it follows to ask who is going to enforce these protections?
