Justifying the unjustifiable

As a common practice News Alert Niagara strives to provide articles to politicians for their edification. News Alert Niagara apprises our politicians through direct emails. Our system allows us to determine when our emails are displayed on the recipients device and/or when the recipient opens the email. It even lets us know if the recipient deletes the email without reading!

What our system won't tell us is who would deny our politicians access to our stories or why.

Dropping our stories into a black hole of oblivion certainly puts a lie to any pretense of so-called openness, transparency and integrity. In fact it takes a lot of gall, criminal or otherwise, to interfere with anyone's public correspondence.

Still, imagine our surprise when on November 12, 2019 we hear an echo of our November 7, 2019 article at the 129:00 minute mark of Fort Erie's Council Meeting when a councilor began to question the goal of the Town in its decades-long persecution of an innocent Citizen's Family.

When asked, the Town Treasurer denied any connection between to the landlocked proposed subdivision and the attempt to deprive an innocent Town Family of their private property rights.

This brings us to a conundrum. If the Town of Fort Erie is not attacking a private Citizen in an attempt to deprive the innocent Favero Family of their rights on behalf of a private developer, then what in the hell is the justification for such a shameful persecution of a Citizen's Family for so many years?

What can be expected from a municipality who would unilaterally demolish a Citizen's home because of a messy back yard!
