Just because Adam Smith wrote it it his book titled 'A Wealth of Nations' does not make it so!
Just because Adam Smith has been repeatedly proven correct in his philosophy, a philosophy based on actual worldwide studies, regarding government meddling in the world of commerce does not mean the relatively modern know-betters are wrong to 'assist' commerce for a better society.
Just because the know-betters failed to regulate the maximum number of eggs a Nazi chicken must lay or the elimination Sparrows in China causing a plague of locusts does not indicate that know-betters are wrong.
After all, look at the unbelievable successes in only one hundred years of altruistic socialism, a philosophy based on Utopian dreams!
Surely it is important to assist failing commerce and new commercial start-ups from the public purse! Without Taxpayer funding some businesses might close or worse there would be no new start-up businesses that is so desperately required! Even the infamous KPMG says Niagara Taxpayers can afford higher taxes neglecting, of course, the fact that many of our Citizen's have a leaking roof or the exponential increase in homelessness!
Predicated on the administrative cost and mysterious shrinkage the equation of 'Rob Peter to pay Paul' has become 'Rob two Peters to pay one Paul'.
