The Corruption Continues

Here we go again!

‘News Alert Niagara’ would like to know when is the best time to apprise the Niagara Regional Government on the issue of budget spending if not at the Budget Review Committee of the Whole?

Click here to witness for yourself the crafty Machinations of the Regional Council in action.

You will notice that on the agenda was a Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority presentation regarding the $millions in taxpayer Dollars required to operate.

You will also notice is that a Citizen’s presentation regarding the same $millions in taxpayer Dollars wasted on the NPCA was denied.

You will also notice that once again the NPCA Board members were able to skew the vote thus denying a dissenting presentation!

You will watch as the big boy chair was turned over to a ‘foul-mouthed lying bully’ NPCA board member, who actually tried to stymie Citizen Smith without a vote.

Then the Councilors had to vote without ever having had a chance, their right and/or responsibility to see what was in Smith’s presentation.

What was in the presentation was serious and pertinent information precisely to do with the budget and the wasted spending on the NPCA.

It gets worse!

The promise to allow Smith to speak at the next meeting turns out to be just another typical ruse to deny free speech!

If that isn't bad enough, smith is told the following:

From: "Fabiano, Frank" <Frank.Fabiano@niagararegion.ca>
To: Ed Smith <edsmith121@yahoo.ca>; "Norio, Ann-Marie" <Ann-Marie.Norio@niagararegion.ca>

Subject: RE: Request to Appear as a Delegation at Budget Review Committee of Whole

Thank you for your email and request for an explanation.  We do want to ensure that you receive the correct information so that you may make your concerns known to members of Council.

As I recall, my recommendation to you yesterday in both instances was suggesting that you follow the requirements of the Procedural By-Law.

Section 13.1 states:

Any person, group of persons or organization wishing to address a Standing Committee with respect to a matter already on a Committee agenda shall submit a written request to the Clerk no later than 9:00 a.m. on the Thursday* the week prior to the meeting of the Committee. Delegation requests to address a Standing Committee on matters not already on the agenda must be submitted at least 14 days before the date and time of the meeting of the Committee. The Clerk shall direct delegations to the appropriate Committee and delegations will not be permitted at more than one Committee.

Please note the reference to the request being required 14 days before the date and time of the meeting of the Committee. Your request to appear as a delegation for tomorrow’s meeting does not meet those requirements.

I hope this message provides you with the information that you need so that you can make your concerns known to Council.

Respectfully,

Frank Fabiano
Acting Regional Clerk
Niagara Region
Phone: 905-980-6000, Ext. 3220
Please Note: *The agenda is not posted before the application deadline!
